Today, we embarked on a multi-module journey dedicated to creating these AI agents tailored for various roles within an organization. Our focus is on developing an AI agent specifically designed for an accounts receivable team member.

 

Why Does This Matter?

Establishing personalized AI support can significantly cut down on the time employees waste looking through documentation and asking colleagues for help. Instead, team members will have direct access to accurate and consistent answers, boosting their confidence while allowing them to work independently and productively

Hands-On Workshop: Creating Your First AI Agent

Here’s a brief overview of the steps:

  1. Select Your Role: For this session, we chose to create an AI agent for the accounts receivable department.
  2. Craft the Goal Statement: Every agent begins with a clear goal that defines its purpose.
  3. Develop the Backstory: This includes the agent’s experience and historical context, designed to ensure it provides high-value responses.
  4. Outline Base Instructions: These are standard operating procedures (SOPs) that will guide the AI in delivering answers relevant to the role.
  5. Establish Knowledge Bases: Attach important documents or integrate with existing systems, like Source Wiki or OneDrive, for real-time information retrieval.

The Role of Consistency and Confidence

One of the most exciting aspects of implementing AI agents is the potential for consistency in responses. By grounding our AI agents with accurate data, employees can expect to receive the same information every time, no matter how many times they ask.

Imagine this scenario: A new member of your accounts receivable team can simply ask, “What information do I need to complete a credit assessment for ABC Cars?” Instead of guessing or searching through multiple documents, the AI agent will provide a precise answer based on established company protocols.
